These barrels of sake are given as an offering to the shrine by Japanese sake brewers each year, as sake is often seen as a connection between the Gods and people in Japan. The sake is then used for festivals and celebrations throughout the year. The huge stack of barrels looks incredible as the evening light shines through the forest onto them. What amazes me most about the shrine is that even though the forest is in the middle of Shibuya, it is somehow so quiet and calm.
