Soft colours on artist paper. Sometimes, colour pencils make the perfect artist medium when oils aren’t an option. It’s a different technique. With oils you paint your mid-colours first, getting lighter as you proceed. Colour pencils mean you must think about your lightest colours first. Colouring over the top with darker pigments to form deeper shadows as you go. You can use a little water and a brush to blend if you use water soluble pencils. You give yourself different technical problems to solve. That keep your creative mind awake.
