woman's face

Piece number two of my last portrait series, following Envy. Purple is historically known to represent royalty due to its cost in clothing dye. I chose my friend Monika, a powerful college tennis player, to represent a woman of royalty and strength. She couldn’t have displayed such ideals more accurately. In this, the purple smoke shows that often times we can stumble into our purpose and power, not realizing that it had been building up in and around us for years. All we have to do is embrace it.
