time-lapse of lights

On a warm summer night in the city, a friend and I walked on a bridge overlooking the highway. After capturing some traditional long exposure shots, I wanted to try something a little different. Knowing a lot of background images work well when they’re blurred, I tried for a more abstract style with this shot. This was shot on a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens for Canon, adapted for my Sony a7R II. The effect was achieved through a rack focus during a long exposure of the highway below.
