We got up at 3am to drive up to the top of Haleakalā National Park and see the sunrise. We’d heard everyone talk about how incredible it was and something we had to whilst on the island but never did we think it would leave us as speechless as it did. The slow sunrise and clouds like waves, rolling over the volcanic landscape, was something that I can’t imagine I’d ever experience again. When the sun had risen, we started walking back down to where we had left our car and I managed to capture this shot. I feel like it perfectly sums up that feel of adventure literally on top of the world.
