My friend Art and I spontaneously decided to fly up to NYC a few weekends ago, after he learned that I had never been. Since our plane tickets were last minute we ended up only staying 36 hours or so, and on top of that we only got about four hours of sleep (two of which were on the plane ride out). This picture was taken late at night on our first night in the city. We walked from Times Square down past Union Square to get a slice of pizza from Art’s favorite pizzeria, when I saw this mostly empty street. It was surreal seeing this near-empty street in such a busy city.
