macro photography of purple hyssop flowers

Experimenting with fstop and using focus (or lack thereof) to frame my subject matter, I came upon this wild-looking lavender plant. I slammed my fstop all the way down with the intention of blowing out the background and a lot of the noise in the scene. The result surprised me, I wasn’t really focused on anything specific other than the plant itself because I knew some part of it would be in focus. I really was happy with how stalks of lavender dance in and out of focus and really pleased with how crisp the focused areas are. The glowing sky and the light really elevate the image.
