This photo reminds me of a screenshot I’d see in an old Japanese film. My friend and I were waiting for our bus near the Hozugawa river and I turned around in time to see these school boys skipping rocks and laughing with one another. Kyoto itself was a dream to wander around but capturing this moment here allowed me feel more like a local than a tourist, enjoying the wonder of nature and those who live by it.
