On tour with a band as a temporary drummer, this old man caught my eye; he stood out from all the others. The old man was a tourist with nothing but a bicycle, binoculars, a disposable camera, and the change in his pocket—as well as an old phone that could only text or call. We shared something in common: The old man and I, along with everyone else aboard vessel, were on our way to the annual Tinian Hot Pepper Festival. The old man asked me about my camera and how he desired to own a digital camera similar to mine. He laughed at my lens hood calling it “sporty.” This photo makes me feel happy.
