Our second Sunday in Athens, we arrived an hour early for an international church service. While most of our group returned down the hill where the church was situated to find breakfast or coffee, a few of us continued up the hill in the spirit of exploration and curiosity. This stairway was just the first of many more. We didn’t know it then, but we were sampling the climb of the highest point in Athens.
