While walking through the streets of Rome, I noticed this canvas hanging in a small bookshop window. Similar to Keith Arnatt’s 1972 work ‘Trouser - Word Piece’ I see it as an ironic reference to artistic egocentricity. But at the same time, it is those who are brave enough to make such a statement who are the ‘real artists’.
