We were on a hike in Canyonlands National Park when we came across these handprints hidden in an alcove. You had to hike a bit back from the river and scramble up some rocks until you got to this large granary surrounded by pictographs. The view was beautiful; it made you feel like the space was sacred. I’m always inspired by these traces of the ancient peoples. It makes me wonder - did they know they would leave their mark for the people that followed? What were they trying to communicate? And what traces of me will be left behind as my legacy?
