I was planning on meeting one of my good friends early in the morning. He was from San Francisco, so we were regular patrons to the local coffee shop. That morning, however, the two of us were running very late, and he had to cancel on me. Even though I had an incredibly busy day ahead, I sat for the hour or so I had planned to spend with him in silence. It was in that unexpected moment of rest that I took this photo.
