While visiting the local birding spot I came across a terraced paddy field recently cleared after the harvest. I saw a bunch of cacti spurting from the cracked earth around the edge of the field in the shadows, squeezing out all the moisture from the air. I forgot about the birds chirping in the background and laid there admiring this resilient green-white thorny plants.
