My friend Diego and I were walking through the woods behind his apartment near Munich, Germany one Sunday on our way to the beer garden for lunch. We were both feeling a little blue and the mood of the conversation reflected that. I suddenly stopped and after realizing I was no longer walking alongside him, Diego turned around and asked: “What are you doing?” I responded: “Look at the green spot!” I only had my iPhone with me but I wanted to capture that perfect ray of light poking through the dense grove. In that moment, that green spot represented the hope we both needed.
