While staying in Winslow, Arizona I discovered this lovely, out-of-the-way county park. The Little Painted Desert has terrain and beauty similar to the Painted Desert about one hour east, though without the crowds. We arrived just as the sun emerged over the horizon then enjoyed the peace of the place so much that we returned that evening to discover its beauty at sunset.
