Scenes from a solo beach cleanup with the usual culprit: fishing debris. Here in New England, lobster traps (including their rope, and various parts) litter just about every stretch of beach, and are consistently one of the most abundant marine debris items documented. Also referred to as derelict fishing gear, or ghost-fishing gear, these lost traps can continue fishing and posing a risk to wildlife.
