I remember seeing the movie, Ferngully, as a child, about the fairies losing their homes to people cutting down their forest, their home, and being deeply affected by it. It was only recently that I found out it was an Australian film, and that it was made to raise awareness of a real forest that the film actually saved in real life. And who said fairies weren’t real?
