Lionesses are the working force of any lion pride. They do most of the hunting; in fact, they spend 90% of their time hunting, leaving their male counterpart(s) to protect the pride. Our photography volunteers in the Greater Kruger Area (South Africa) sometimes get to see this in action. This pride of lionesses pictured are on the hunt. They’ve spotted a herd of buffalo.
