Captured in June 2017, this image depicted a Mexican woman in the process of entering the United States, while in her vehicle. Her dog, also seen in the photograph, a Labrador mix, was accompanying her across the border. She had presented the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer, a copy of her Dog License Application & Rabies Certificate, which had been issued by the County of San Diego-Animal Services Division, as proof that her pet was up-to-date on his rabies vaccinations. This certificate is a required document, in order to grant travelers crossing into the U.S. with their pets
