This mailbox has been sitting atop Mailbox Peak – the summit’s retronym – for a few decades. It’s mostly there to hold the summit register but has evolved into the register itself and a sort of treasure trove of trinkets that people leave in the box. The trail was steep and unrelenting, somewhat limiting the exposure, but with a new, easier trail in place it sees quite a few visitors these days.
