Melilotus albus (Medik.) is a species of the legume family, Fabaceae. It is known as honey clover, white melilot (UK), Bokhara clover (Australia), white sweetclover (USA), and only sweet clover. This species is considered a valuable honey plant and source of nectar and is often grown for forage. Its characteristic sweet odour, intensified by drying, is derived from coumarin. It's native to Asia and Southern Europe, from France and Spain to Kazakhstan and Myanmar, it was also introduced to the Americas.
