Nigella damascena has many names, but I think the most lovely is "Love-in-a-Mist". Alternately, you can call it "Ragged Lady" or "Devil in the Bush". Native to southern Europe, north Africa and southwest Asia, this self-seeding plant is now cultivated in gardens throughout the temperate world.
