The Italian-influenced, pristine, seven-story Hotel Sorrento in downtown Seattle is near many hospitals and walking distance to restaurants. The rooms are quiet and beautifully appointed. It first opened in 1909. During WWII a portion was turned over to the Red Cross to welcome injured and recovering soldiers. An earlier historical even stems from the guest Alice B. Toklas, in room 408 She was a marijuana activist and is credited with making the first marijuana brownie.
