I have heard the saying thrown around among creatives, “The best camera is the one you have with you when you need it.” I love this mentality. It takes the focus off of comparing lenses or camera bodies, and reminds us that all the top-end gear in the world will not make a difference if you don’t have it with you. This gem was possible because on a very ordinary night I was able to reach into my back-pack grab my DSLR in about 30 seconds and capture this view, right at golden hour. Two minutes later, and it was gone. I have named it “Whisky Bravo” the nick-name of my Portland neighborhood.
