Jumping spiders have been called "the gateway spider" because their curious nature, docile behavior, and cute looks are a great example of how cool spiders can be. I have identified this as a female bold jumping spider (Phidippus audax) but I am uncertain since it is still a juvenile (lacking any significant white spots, still has a red spot on its back). These are one of my favorites and this one is very docile and exploratory in nature.
