I took this photo during one of the first few times I shot the Milky Way in rural Indiana. The eastern United States isn’t known for astrophotography due to light pollution, but I carefully planned for a clear night and a new moon. To me, this photo captures the remarkable perspective of the familiar foreground against the stars that make up the Milky Way, lightyears away.
