Thanks to the advise of a knowledgeable friend I went out to capture one of the Milky Way's Satellite Galaxies, the Large Magellanic Cloud. It is named after the Portuguese explorer Magellan who used it to navigate. The way it appears to us now is how it looked over 150 thousand years ago, as that's the time the light took to travel through space before reaching us. The Large Magellanic Cloud is rich in hydrogen and contains some of the largest planets we know, it also home to one of the known most active star-birth regions in space, the Tarantula nebula.
