The Arch of Victory - popularly also known as Puerta de la Moncloa, for its similarity to the gates of Alcalá and Toledo, or as the Arc de Triomphe - is a triumphal arch located in Madrid, built between 1950 and 1956. It is a commemorative work of the victory of the rebel side over the Republican in the civil war. 1] [2] It is located at one of the main entrances of the capital of Spain, that of the La Coruña road, in the center of the so-called Avenida de la Memoria of the Moncloa-Aravaca district.
