The lovely drooping pink flowers of the Angel’s Fishing Rod or Wand Flower, Dierama pulcherrimum, against a backdrop of dark purple New Zealand flax leaves. Photo of a specimen I planted in a garden in Tasmania. The pretty white, pink, or purple bell flowers, dance in the breeze. The plant is native to the Eastern Cape in South Africa, grows in cool to warm temperate climates, and looks particularly good planted next to a pond with the flowers reflected in the water.
