A very tiny and incredibly adorable Piping Plover chick stands right behind a small shell on the beach as if it is somehow hidden behind it. I like that the shell has a tiny bit of water in it that reflects the chick’s orange legs. The soft sun had just started to break through a cloud bank that hung at the horizon so the morning light is just right. Taken along the northern New Jersey coast in early June.
