Oil painting my favourite local forest. A wet day, the best time to ride here. It’s quiet, no one around. The misty atmosphere makes it feel magical and often you get to see deer and other shy wildlife. The sun was just beginning to peek through the trees and soon the mist would be melted away. I framed this one in ornate gold with clear Perspex for safety. Along with the red brown roadway, the gold frame looks perfect. Of course I pictured it here still without the frame as being painted in oils, it was still wet. After drying I carefully varnished it to add protection and brightness.
