This was taken around 4pm-ish. I was with my classmates taking Mount Merapi Off Road Tour. We were on our way down the mountain to visit another spot on the list. I was in the jeep with all the boys and none of us said any word. Probably because we’re taken aback and cherish the eery but wonderful ambience. We just visited (late) Mbah Maridjan’s tomb. Mbah Maridjan was famous for being the spiritual guardian or “gatekeeper” of the Indonesian volcano Mount Merapi, and the massive eruption on 2010 was still fresh on our memories. To quote Family’s Guy cutaway, “Damn nature, you scary!”
