Mushrooms were the thing that kept me interested in photography during my period of growth as a photographer. All these years later, they still amaze me from time to time. I have identified this as a Marasmius haematocephalus. It's a tiny, red, pinwheel mushroom that was growing on the forest floor and on the bases of trees. Its vibrant red color and white underside easily caught my attention - which then focused on the umbrella shape of this fungi. Very cool species to find.
