The Monastery of Saint Mary "El-Sourian" is a Coptic Orthodox monastery located in the Nitrian Desert (Wadi El Natrun, or Natrun Valley,) North-West of Cairo, Egypt. It is better known as "The Syrian Monastery" or "The Syriac Monastery" because it was mainly used by monks of the West Syriac rite from the 8th to the 14th century.
