Dragged my teenager out for the weekend, camped at nearby Deception Pass and then woke up pre-dawn to visit the tulip fields before the sun came up. When your teenager can completely break down camp by himself while you make coffee at 4:30 in the morning, you know you haven’t completely failed as a parent. It was chilly, but we had the fields to ourselves for a few minutes while the sky got lighter. I got some other fields after the sun actually came up, but by the time it was well and truly up, it was getting fairly popular.
