Stonefishes mimic rocks. In this photo, there are two stonefishes, right up next to the glass of the fish tank, bottom right. Since they look so much like stones they are easy to step on and have an excruciatingly painful sting. They are what is called sit-and-wait predators, and small fish don’t see them as fish, and get engulfed as they swim past.
