This is a night-blooming tropical water lily called Rojjana Ubol. Atop the high bloom sits a male Blue Dasher dragonfly in the "obelisk posture". Damselflies and dragonflies sometimes raise their abdomens in this way, pointing tails to the sun, to minimize the surface area exposed to solar radiation. Night-blooming daylilies typically open at dusk and close at mid-morning on the next day.
