It was the Vernichtungslager (extermination camp) of the complex. It was the immense camp in which over one million and one hundred thousand people lost their lives, overwhelmingly Jews, Russians, Poles and Gypsies. The victims were taken to the gas chambers immediately after the typical selection of the incapacitated at work on the arrival of the convoys.
