I happened to be out on a walk in my neighborhood on a foggy evening, which is rare in West Des Moines, Iowa. I was taking photos of street scenes in the office park to the north of my neighborhood when I suddenly got the inspiration to walk through the chain-link fence which made a tunnel out of the pedestrian walkway attached to an avenue bridge across an interchange where four freeways met. I had seen many photos of fog and concrete in art shows and magazines such as the old Life magazine and I couldn’t resist taking this photo.
