Excerpt from my blog: “In a quieter part of town, an old lady invited me to see her dilapidating old house that looked barely furnished and dimly lit, as it may have been one hundred years ago. She tried to sell me some of the things she had grown in her garden, and, taking pity on her, I purchased a fist-sized bag of mint for five Turkish lira (about 85p). Perhaps they might have use for it back at the guesthouse.”
