Chinese New Year decorations for the year of the ox in downtown Singapore. People’s Park Complex sits in the background of the attached bull lantern photo—one of Singapore’s infamous 1960s Brutalist buildings. Today Singapore has one of the world’s highest home ownership rates, owing to the fact that ~80% of Singaporeans live in government subsidised houses (HDBs). The People’s Park Complex was the first building in this tradition, constructed from 1967 - 1970, following Singapore’s independence in 1965. Shot with a hasselblad Xpan 45mm lens.
