This candid capture of my 2-year-old son walking out of the Sylvan Theatre at Killruddery House & Gardens, Co Wicklow, Ireland, was taken on Halloween 2015. Although he is wearing a pirate costume, this image looks to me like it is straight out of the children’s book The Little Prince, and encapsulates the magic of childhood. It won the photo competition for the 2016 Wicklow Calendar.
