owl on rocks during daytime

Aye. Websites and Facebook posts tell of some snowy owl in our area from time to time and I have searched for them in real life often. Too often they are seen at airports with construction cones and architecture in the background. Even worse, they can be seen sitting in the middle of a 10-acre field. This time, though…THIS time I found one sitting on rocks at a nearby beach. It was young, so somewhat unafraid, and I was able to get within 40 feet of it, miles from the nearest airport or 10-acre field!
