The rule of thirds or the Golden Mean or Section is a conventional aesthetic principle, where the horizon would normally be composed in a photo or painting at a third or two thirds. In this photo I have placed the horizon at halfway, even though this is considered boring, because I think both the sky and the rocks are interesting, and I couldn’t bear to crop either of them.
