I had just finished college and was overwhelmed by the expectation to begin a brilliantly successful career. I had somehow assumed that my marketing degree would qualify me to just roll into any great position and it would be smooth sailing from there until retirement. My Mum was the one that convinced me to throw caution to the wind (and pause the car repayments I had owed her) and take a spontaneous trip to Bali to reflect on life, enjoy a break and find my happiness again.
