new moon during nighttime

On our way to a camp sight on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state my wife, brother-in-law, and I pulled off to the side of the road in awe. The familiar glow of the sun cresting the horizon rejuvenated our spirits after a long dark drive. Leaving our car behind on the side of the highway, we climbed a nearby knoll and were struck by this sight. The sun diffused, but glorious against the mist and marine layer of the morning. What a moment to memorialize in a photo. After the shot I put my camera down and we just sat and enjoyed the warmth.
