This photo was taken on my very first trip to California. This photo reminds me that self-care and slowing down are very important. Being an east coast girl from the hood, it’s easy to get caught up in the past and to feel like the world is against you, so you try to prove yourself through endless hustle and being team #nodaysoff. But then, there are moments like capture in this photo, that remind me that we create our own destiny and we can only do that by exercising self-care and appreciating how far we’ve come.
