This is Marlene on Icy, doing a sliding turn around barrel #2. Turning around a barrel on horseback is very different than turning on a bike or motorcycle, in that you need to lean AWAY from the barrel rather than leaning in. It counter balances the horse and allows the horse to spin more quickly. I try to feature equestrian photos where riders are wearing helmets.
