Mada'in Saleh, also known as Al-Ḥijr or "Hegra", is an archaeological site located in the area of Al-`Ula within Al Madinah Region in the Hejaz, western Saudi Arabia. A majority of the remaining tombs date from the Nabatean kingdom. The site constitutes the kingdom's southernmost and largest settlement after the capital Petra.
